Real stories, real success.
The value I add to projects
1.

Driven by business

Being driven by business is one of my strongest features as a Lead Product Designer. It’s about aligning design decisions with company goals, budgets, and target reach to make sure design moves the business forward.

This mindset keeps teams grounded in what matters most: outcomes. Every design decision should connect to a business objective, whether it’s increasing revenue, reducing churn, or improving user satisfaction.

2.

Project manager

After earning my Google Project Management Certificate, I reinforced what I had already been practicing for years: managing roadmaps, adapting to different teams, and driving progress through agile and scrum frameworks.

This knowledge helps me guide design initiatives with more clarity, structure, and ownership. I can integrate faster into teams, communicate priorities clearly, align sprint goals, track dependencies, and make sure every design decision stays connected to the project timeline and the business objectives.

3.

Data analyst

Over the years, I’ve conducted independent research and analyzed business metrics to support product strategy and improve user experiences. These skills help me recognize opportunities, measure performance, and align design outcomes with company goals.

As a Lead Product Designer, my work is deeply connected to understanding users and driving measurable impact. From using Google Analytics to Hotjar and Pendo, data has always been a key part of how I design — not just to validate decisions, but to anticipate needs and guide growth. Earning the Google Data Analytics Certificate adds a stronger foundation to that mission.

4.

Product Designer

The core of what I bring to the table. Product design it’s where creativity meets structure, and ideas turn into products that move businesses forward.

As a Lead Product Designer, I approach design end-to-end — from research and wireframes to prototypes and scalable systems that help teams deliver consistent and meaningful experiences.

Every project is an opportunity to refine, learn, and push design beyond aesthetics into strategy, usability, and growth. That's why my goal is to create designs that not only look good but help scale products efficiently, align with user needs, and support business goals.

Note: I rely on tools like Figma or Sketch, but more importantly, I rely on a self-taught mindset that lets me quickly adapt to any new software or process.

Challenges, decision-making, and results.

1How do you lead a design team and ensure alignment with business goals?
I lead by clarifying. I start with the company's strategic objectives, and then translate them into explicit design principles and measurable outcomes. I allow my team to make design decisions but keep everyone aligned through regular check-ins and shared KPIs. With over 17 years of experience, I've discovered that business alignment is strongest when design is engaged early on, so I build strong alliances with product and business leaders. My Product Management and Analytics credentials provide me with the capability to explain design decisions in terms of business value, not simply design quality.
2Share an example of a project where design shaped the overall product vision
In previous positions, I directed products by combining market needs with user insights. A prime example was when I led a feature proposal based on extensive understanding of the user persona and competitor. Not only did the feature improve usability but also impacted peer applications in the same ecosystem. While I can't reveal project details due to confidentiality, the result improved client satisfaction and a rejuvenated value proposition that linked directly to the business strategy.
3How do you use data to inform design decisions?
I consider data a way of validating, as opposed to replacing, design intuition. I utilize quantitative data as well as qualitative user research data. To illustrate, I have used funnel analysis to detect drop-off points and combined that with user interviewing to develop solutions with a specific focus. I also invite teams to use data as a shared language with stakeholders, so design conversations are having measurable impact.
4What’s your approach to helping designers on your team grow in their careers?
I focus on building autonomy and self-confidence. Beginners need structure and guidance, so I help them master fundamentals and build good habits. Lead designers need trust and autonomy, so I guide them towards leadership and ownership. I also create feedback loops & one-to-one, so there is continuous development. Mentorship has been included in my style of leadership, and I feel happy to see my mentored designers become leads too.
5How would you balance hands-on design work with leadership responsibilities?
The balance depends on the maturity of the team. In small teams, I would stay hands-on in order to set a level of quality and process. In larger teams, my role would shift toward strategy, alignment, and stakeholder management, while still being available for design reviews and critical moments. I enjoy staying close to the craft, but I would prioritize leadership tasks like setting vision, ensuring alignment, and removing blockers. This adaptability allows me to support both the business needs and the team’s growth.
